Job summary

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) is seeking a seasoned marketing professional to lead proposals, client interviews, and strategic marketing initiatives in the UK. You will collaborate with senior leaders to develop materials, research markets, and shape pursuit strategies for architecture and design projects.

You bring 5+ years in A/E/C marketing, strong writing/design skills, and fluency with InDesign, Office, and Google Workspace.

Qualifications

• Completion of four-year undergraduate degree or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
• 5+ years experience in marketing within the A/E/C industry.
• Strong writing and graphic design skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong project management skills.
• Ability to work with senior leaders across a firm.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
• Experience with Salesforce CRM and OpenAsset is a plus.
• Must be passionate about architectural design to undertake marketing, business development, and proposal preparation.
• Ability to work and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Leads the preparation of proposals, including outlines, schedules, and content development; contributes to consultant selection and teaming within areas of expertise.
• Contributes to client interview strategy and marketing collateral for interviews and presentations; manages the interview process.
• Collaborates with leadership and marketing to develop materials reflecting strategic goals.
• Conducts market, leads, and potential client research.
• Develops pursuit strategy and contributes to market strategy development; identifies competitive advantages for SOM.
• Engages in business plan creation and implementation within a focus area.
• References and contributes to Pursuit and Project objects; uses Salesforce to track business plan implementation.
• Develops area(s) of expertise; supports training of Marketing Coordinators.
• Represents the firm in client and professional organizations; nurtures new business leads.
