Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) in London invites applications for a Senior Designer, Interiors. The role calls for strong conceptual design ability, leadership of design teams, and collaboration across disciplines to deliver exceptional interior projects.

You will contribute to project concepts, documentation, and delivery while advancing sustainability and high-quality finishes. Portfolios are required; licensure is a plus and a passion for design excellence is essential.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture and/or Interior Design.
• Licensure process near completion; LEED accreditation preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of experience or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
• General understanding of sustainable strategies and LEED or other green rating systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Familiarity with BIM and Revit Tools; Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Navisworks, etc.
• Actively supports BIM/CAD standards and procedures.

Responsabilités

• Creates and innovates with strong conceptual design and integrates interdisciplinary criteria for large or small projects.
• Demonstrates advanced understanding of interiors materials, building systems, codes, and costing trends; researches and documents through all project phases.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Interior Architecture including workplace planning, design development, and FF&E selection.
• Manages own workload and guides others, with leadership responsibilities.
• Inspires and leads by example; mentors and trains staff; defines team expectations.
• Contributes to clear work plans to achieve project budget, deliverables, and schedule.
• Engages in internal professional development opportunities.
• Contributes to sustainable design strategies and staff knowledge.
• Develops standards, policies, and procedures; protects firm from risk.
