Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager (Retail/FMCG) to join a highly successful, independent retail brand that has been established for over 100 years. In this senior leadership role, you will take full ownership of the brand’s growth across all marketing channels. Reporting directly to the board, you will manage both in-house teams and third-party agencies to deliver a strategic and effective marketing strategy.

This newly created role is ideal for a seasoned Marketing Manager, Marketing Director, or Head of Marketing with experience in the FMCG or retail sectors. If you're a strategic thinker with both B2B and B2C experience, this role is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the brand's future.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Agency Management: Lead the appointed marketing agency, ensuring that all marketing output aligns with business priorities, brand values, and commercial goals.
  • Brand Advocacy: Champion the brand across all marketing touchpoints to ensure marketing communications reflect the brand's heritage, quality, and values while engaging new audiences.
  • Campaign Oversight: Oversee the execution of marketing campaigns, ensuring they are on-brand, on-brief, and meet clear objectives.
  • In-Store Marketing: Collaborate with sales and retail partners to support in-store marketing and promotional activities across major supermarkets and independent stockists.
  • Social Media Strategy: Guide content direction for social media channels, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn, ensuring platform-specific content is engaging and aligned with the brand.
  • E-commerce & Website Management: Oversee digital marketing efforts for the e-commerce platform, ensuring the website is optimised for traffic, conversion, and user experience.
  • Performance Review: Monitor marketing performance and analytics, using insights to make informed decisions and presenting outcomes to senior leadership.
  • PR & Communication: Lead the creation of messaging for PR, press releases, internal communications, and product launches.
  • Budget Management: Manage the marketing budget to ensure effective use of resources and alignment of agency spend with results. Report on return on investment.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and support the in-house marketing team, introducing modern marketing practices, coaching talent, and ensuring alignment with business goals.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Marketing Expertise: Proven experience managing agencies and creating strategies across both traditional and digital channels.
  • FMCG/Retail Experience: Previous experience in the FMCG or retail sectors is ideal.
  • Storytelling & Influencing: Excellent at creating compelling narratives and influencing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong ability to develop and implement long-term marketing strategies.
  • Leadership: Experience leading marketing teams and fostering professional growth.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum plus benefits.
  • Flexible Working: Hybrid working arrangement with flexible hours.
