Job summary

Expleo is seeking an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to join our Maritime Engineering team. You will provide technical leadership in the design, integration and delivery of Combat Systems programmes, acting as the primary technical authority below Chief Engineer.

In a high-assurance, safety-critical context you will govern delivery, ensure compliance with standards, and drive capability development while mentoring ETLs and TLs across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or computing required; chartered status preferred.
• Strong lifecycle knowledge: requirements, architecture, integration, V&V, quality.
• Experience in safety-critical, regulated environments and governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical authority across projects and bids.
• Escalation point for technical risk, quality, and engineering integrity.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, legislation and engineering governance.
• Conduct and oversee technical reviews and audits.
• Intervene where technical risk exists and stop work on technical grounds.
• Ensure projects are resourced with SQEP engineers.
• Lead and develop ETLs and TLs, providing input to appraisals and development planning.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practice and capability maturity.
