Job summary

Mivan Ltd is seeking a Senior Marine Estimator in Antrim with worldwide project exposure. The role requires taking full responsibility for bidding from enquiry through to final submission, leveraging extensive construction knowledge and marine tendering experience where possible.

The position involves leading tender preparation, cost estimation, supplier and subcontract negotiations, and client liaison, with occasional international travel to assess market conditions and client locations.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in an estimating role from enquiry to final submission.
• Extensive knowledge of general construction works including new build, refurbishment and fit-out.
• Experience or advantageous familiarity with marine tendering and projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimator during tender preparation and coordinate submission.
• Prepare enquiry documents using appropriate methods.
• Source and assess supplier/subcontract quotations on advantageous terms.
• Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities from drawings and specs.
• Liaise with Design, Operations, QS and Senior Management for bid support.
• Promote cross-department collaboration and follow company procedures.
• Calculate site management and preliminary costs.
• Chair tender adjudication meetings and document actions for final submission.
• Identify risks and opportunities in tender documents.
• Evaluate tender programme requirements for efficient resources.
• Support and develop other Estimating team members.
• Participate in final negotiations and client liaison.
• Arrange handover meetings on successful tenders.
• Post-tender discussions and cost considerations including contract evaluation.
