Job summary

RNLI seeks a Senior Engineer to provide marine electrical and electronic engineering expertise for lifeboats, fleets and related equipment. You will design, integrate and support electrical/electronic systems while ensuring safety and reliability for lifesaving operations.

You will investigate faults, run trials and produce technical outputs, collaborating with project teams and suppliers to deliver timely solutions with innovation and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in marine electrical, marine electronics or closely related engineering role.
• Engineering qualification as defined (Level 6 or Level 5 with experience).
• Aspiration to achieve Engineering Council Incorporated/Chartered status.

Responsibilities

• Design, integrate and support marine electrical/electronic systems for RNLI assets.
• Perform fault finding, trials and analysis of electrical/electronic systems.
• Produce and review technical outputs: requirements, drawings, installation guidance, specs, test plans.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Supply, PMs, suppliers and operations to deliver solutions.
• Support R&D and improvement projects involving onboard systems and marine technologies.
