Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Marine Ecologist to join our Nature team across the UK and Ireland with a flexible hybrid working model. You will lead technical marine ecological assessments, support EIA/DCO workstreams, and contribute to client liaising on high-profile projects.

You will collaborate with specialists, drive quality, manage projects and budgets, and mentor junior staff while growing the marine ecology portfolio for a broad range of sectors including offshore wind and coastal

Qualifications

• Specialist marine ecology knowledge and capabilities.
• Ability to develop and deliver EIA/consenting inputs.
• Strong writing and communication for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical marine ecological and consenting advice across ES chapters and related assessments.
• Ensure deliverables meet high-quality standards and QA procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve project outcomes.
• Contribute to technical and fee proposals and client liaison for business growth.
• Manage projects, resources and budgets; pursue PM training to achieve accreditation.
• Mentor and develop marine ecology team members.
