Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Marine Ecologist to join our Nature team across the UK and Ireland with a flexible hybrid working model. You will lead marine ecological assessments, provide consenting advice, and manage complex projects from proposal through to delivery.

You will mentor junior ecologists, collaborate with specialists, and contribute to business development and client liaison on national and international projects such as offshore wind, coastlines and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical marine ecological and consenting advice across multiple workstreams and support the full EIA/DCO development cycle.
• Ensure deliverables meet high quality standards and comply with quality management procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including underwater acoustics, coastal processes, water science and marine archaeology.
• Support growth and business development through technical/fee proposals and client liaison.
• Manage projects effectively, including resource allocation and budget oversight, and pursue PM training if needed.
• Mentor and develop members of the marine ecology team.
