Mapbox is seeking a Software Development Engineer III for the Maps API team. You will balance rapid development of mapping tools with reliable services as traffic and use cases grow globally.

You may write code, deploy microservices, diagnose complex system behavior, and enable continuous delivery at Mapbox. The role emphasizes designing scalable systems, mentoring teammates, and maintaining high-quality, well-documented code.

Competenze

• 8–10+ years of experience building scalable high-volume low-latency backend services.
• Proficiency with Python, NodeJS, and native AWS tools (CDK, ECS, Step Functions, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFront).
• Experience building mapping and geospatial related products.
• Familiarity with code versioning tools, such as GitHub.
• Able to perform independently all development tasks based on designs and specs.
• Self-starter who is communication and outcomes-oriented.
• Analytical approach with hypothesis-driven work and clear communication of findings.
• Willingness to share expertise through documentation, mentorship, pairing, and active discussion.
• Desire to work with and lead diverse teams and maintain high-quality standards.
