Job summary

Baker Hughes in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple manufacturing areas, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution. You will coach Operations Managers, drive delivery performance, monitor key metrics, and partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Planning and HR to optimize factory performance.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in a complex manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
• Proven track record of leading multiple production areas through operational leadership teams.
• Demonstrated improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost performance.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience managing large, multi-disciplinary manufacturing organizations.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making.
• Experience in production management, workforce planning, resource allocation, and capacity planning.

Responsibilities

• Leading manufacturing operations across multiple production areas, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution.
• Coaching and developing Operations Managers to build a culture of accountability, engagement, and performance excellence.
• Driving delivery performance by ensuring production schedules and customer commitments are achieved.
• Monitoring and improving key operational metrics across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory, and cost.
• Leading operational reviews, escalation processes, and recovery plans to resolve manufacturing challenges and mitigate business risks.
• Managing workforce planning, resource allocation, labor utilization, and capacity management across manufacturing operations.
• Partnering with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Planning, HR, HSE, and other key stakeholders to optimize factory performance.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, cost reduction, and overall operational excellence.
