Job summary

Cirrus Selection Limited is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer based in Ampthill, Bedfordshire to own the manufacturing process for electro‑mechanical assemblies from NPI to full rate production and end of life. The role offers a salary from £53,000 to £57,000 plus bonus, with a 4‑day week and pension.

You will define build sequences, BOMs and routings, specify tooling, estimate shop floor effort, lead root cause and corrective actions, and shape the site’s technology roadmap while

Qualifications

• Solid experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer or Production Engineer in a complex assembly environment.
• Hands-on electro-mechanical assembly process knowledge, including bonding.
• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools used in practice.
• Experience managing BOMs and routings in SAP or similar MRP/ERP.
• Confident producing 2D technical drawings in CAD.
• A track record of driving continuous improvement and process change.
• Eligibility for UK security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Defining build sequences, process instructions and production layouts using lean principles.
• Building and maintaining manufacturing BOMs and routings in SAP.
• Specifying new tooling and fixtures and writing technical requirement specifications.
• Estimating engineering and shop floor effort for new work.
• Leading root cause analysis and corrective actions when yield or quality drops.
• Shaping the site's manufacturing technology roadmap and capital equipment plans.
• Collaborating with production, industrial engineering, quality and design, and challenging designs when needed.
