Job Description

Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight

Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing:
  1. Apply depth and breadth of Manufacturing Engineering knowledge and experience to support and undertake development in disciplines such as electromechanical assembly.
  2. Interpret production drawing data to identify and generate tooling requirements, manufacturing process requirements, handling and safety requirements, estimate assembly times, and develop methods/routings.
  3. Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions and develop effective, efficient, and practical shopfloor layouts.
  4. Conduct health and safety activities including risk assessments, COSHH, PUWER, and manual handling assessments.
  5. Engage in technical liaison with subcontractors and customers.
  6. Develop training packages to ensure understanding and correct implementation of modern technologies and processes.
  7. Collaborate with development teams to ensure Design for Manufacture considerations are incorporated for all new products.
Your skills and experience:

Essential:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Excellent understanding of production engineering principles.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.

Desirable:

  • HNC/D qualification in engineering.
  • Understanding of engineering change documentation.
  • Experience with SAP transactions and table structures (training provided).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques.

The Manufacturing Engineering Team:

The team comprises 6 engineers, including this position. Engineers support every step of the build process and interact with departments such as Procurement, Projects, Stores, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
