Job Description

Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight

Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing:

1. Apply extensive Manufacturing Engineering knowledge to support and develop in disciplines such as Electromechanical assembly.
2. Interpret production drawings to identify and generate tooling, manufacturing process, handling, safety requirements, estimate assembly times, and develop methods/routings.
3. Create and maintain effective, efficient, and practical shopfloor layouts and manufacturing work instructions.
4. Conduct health and safety activities including risk assessments, COSHH, PUWER, and manual handling.
5. Engage in technical liaison with sub-contractors and customers.
6. Develop training packages to promote understanding and implementation of modern technologies and processes.
7. Collaborate with development teams to ensure Design for Manufacture principles are applied to new products.

Your skills and experience:

Essential:

• Experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
• Good understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of Production Engineering principles.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.

Desirable:

• HNC/D qualification in engineering.
• Knowledge of engineering change documentation.
• Experience with SAP transactions and table structures (training provided).
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Techniques.

The Manufacturing Engineering Team:

Consists of 6 Engineers supporting all build process steps, interacting across departments such as Procurement, Projects, Stores, and Engineering.
