Job summary

Cosworth is seeking a Senior Production/Manufacturing Engineer to join our high-performance Manufacturing Team in Northampton, delivering precision components using advanced CNC machinery and integrated design/test processes.

The role covers developing CAM programs, fixture design, and end-to-end ownership of production processes, with emphasis on NPI, tooling and cost control. Team collaboration and continuous improvement are essential in this dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Strong CAM programming experience, ideally Siemens NX.
• Background in automotive, motorsport, aerospace or precision engineering.
• Previous experience as Manufacturing/Production engineer or CAM programmer.
• Experience in fixture design.
• Strong understanding of GD&T.
• Apprentice-trained or holding a technical degree (HNC/HND/Bachelor).
• Hands-on problem solver in fast-paced environments.
• Teamcenter/Vericut/SAP knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise multi-axis CNC programs using CAM.
• Design and implement production fixturing.
• Own manufacturing processes from concept to production.
• Support new product introduction, tooling and process development.
• Support shopfloor staff, driving continuous improvement.
• Estimate production times and costs, manage BOMs.
• Consider health, safety, environmental and energy impacts of activities.
• Ensure compliance with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

We’re seeking a Senior Production/Manufacturing Engineer to join our high-performance Manufacturing Team, delivering precision components in a fast-paced environment.

Our operations span two advanced manufacturing facilities in Northampton, featuring 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machines, mill-turns, lathes and grinders supported by automation for complex, high-precision production. With internal design, build, and test, all processes are fully integrated through Siemens NX and Teamcenter, ensuring seamless collaboration from concept to completion.

The Role

• Develop & optimise multi-axis CNC programs using CAM.
• Design and implement production fixturing.
• Take ownership of manufacturing processes from concept to production.
• Support new product introduction, tooling, and process development.
• Support shopfloor staff, driving continuous improvement.
• Estimate production times and costs, managing BOMs.
• Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
• Support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by following company policy and best practice.

Candidate Profile

• Teamcenter, Vericut, or SAP experience a plus.
