Location: Daventry

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 PA

This Senior CAM Programmer role is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled programming professional with strong 5-axis machining knowledge to step into a key position within a rapidly expanding precision engineering environment.

The business specialises in the design, manufacture and assembly of high-precision components and assemblies some of the biggest British OEMs. Working with advanced 5-axis machining technologies and aerospace-grade materials, you will play a central role in developing efficient, accurate and high-quality manufacturing processes across a range of complex projects.

Responsibilities
  • Create, develop and optimise CAM programs using Siemens NX CAM software for complex multi-axis CNC machining operations
  • Define machining strategies for precision components manufactured from Titanium, Inconel, Aluminium, Stainless Steel and other specialist materials
  • Support New Product Introduction projects from concept through to production, working closely with Production, Engineering and Machine Shop teams
  • Validate programs using simulation and verification tools, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality machining processes
  • Select cutting tools, fixtures, feeds, speeds and machining methods to maximise productivity, cycle times and component quality
  • Troubleshoot machining and programming challenges, mentor junior programmers and support continuous improvement across manufacturing operations
Requirements
  • Extensive CAM programming experience within a precision engineering, motorsport, aerospace, defence, medical or advanced manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in 5-axis CNC machining, with proven experience programming complex low-volume, high-precision components
  • Advanced knowledge of Siemens NX CAM, ideally NX10 or later, with the ability to work from complex engineering drawings and CAD models
  • Strong understanding of Fanuc-controlled CNC machinery, cutting tools, machining strategies, feeds, speeds and material removal techniques
  • Experience working with aerospace-grade materials such as Titanium and Inconel, alongside a strong continuous improvement mindset
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and leadership skills, with previous experience mentoring or supporting technical teams
