Job summary

JobTailor is seeking a dedicated engineer to support production, drive process improvements, and lead maintenance activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct risk assessments, and help develop safe operating procedures while ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are met.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent is required.
• Experience delivering measurable results in a busy manufacturing environment.
• Experience with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.
• Experience carrying out risk assessments and driving actions is advantageous.
• Good communication skills and flexibility to meet business needs.
• Ideally trained in Six Sigma tools and methodology.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and Minitab data analysis preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years' recent experience.

Responsibilities

• Support production requirements and drive process improvements.
• Fully support projects from concept through completion.
• Implement Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules.
• Ensure Health & Safety of all employees in area of responsibility.
• Assist in daily/weekly H&S audits.
• Understand lock out tag out systems.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards in the department.
• Carry out risk assessments for departmental tasks.
• Contribute to writing safe operating procedures.
• Liaise with fellow employees and monitor scrap/yield trends.
• Ensure processes and procedures are followed and environmental controls are observed.
• Ensure contractors operate to site rules and issue work permits as needed.
• Collaborate with Maintenance dept.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Responsible for supporting production requirements
• Identifying and driving process improvements
• Fully supporting projects from concept through to completion
• Ensuring that Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules are implemented
• Ensure the Health & Safety of all employees within area of responsibility
• Assist in daily/weekly H&S audits as required
• Good understanding of lock out tag out systems
• Ensure the highest levels of housekeeping within the department are maintained
• Carry out risk assessments for departmental tasks
• Contribute to the writing of safe operating procedures for operations within the Department
• Liaise with fellow employees
• Monitor scrap and yield trends and implement corrective actions
• Ensure all processes and procedures are always adhered to
• Ensure all Environmental controls and procedures are carried out
• Ensure Contractors on site are operating to the Company’s Site Rules
• Issuing work permits to contractors and tradesman under your control
• Work closely with Maintenance dept

Requirements

• Engineering Degree level or equivalent
• Previous recent experience of delivering measurable results in a busy manufacturing environment
• Experience of working with Cross-functional Teams to achieve objectives
• Previous experience of carrying out risk assessments in the workplace and driving resulting actions would be an advantage
• Good communication skills
• Flexible and adaptable to meet demanding business needs
• Target and objective driven
• Ideally trained in both an Engineering discipline and the use of Six Sigma tools and methodology
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Minitab data analysis preferred
• Minimum of 3 yrs. recent experience
