Job summary

X4 Technology in Rochester is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer with a strong electronics background to develop and improve manufacturing processes. You’ll work closely with production and engineering on PCBA, cable, and box-build activities, transferring products from engineering into reliable manufacture.

This role offers the chance to tackle real issues on the shop floor, create clear work instructions, drive yields and quality, and collaborate with suppliers to implement practical

Qualifications

• Strong experience in manufacturing engineering within an electronics environment.
• Hands-on experience with electronic assembly, ideally PCBA.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production methods.
• Experience supporting NPI and transferring products from engineering into manufacture.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing and assembly issues.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience working with components, BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
• A practical approach to process improvement and problem solving.
• Experience working in a high-mix, low-volume or technically complex manufacturing environment.

Are you a hands‑on Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in electronics manufacturing, PCBA or complex electronic assembly?

I’m supporting an established, internationally focused science and manufacturing SME that is entering an exciting period of growth — and they’re looking for a practical, technically minded Manufacturing Engineer to help develop and improve their manufacturing processes.

This is a small, technically capable manufacturing operation, so it’s a role where you’ll be close to the products, the engineering team and the production floor. Rather than simply managing processes, you’ll be getting involved in solving problems, improving build methods and helping take products from engineering through to reliable manufacture.

What you’ll be involved in:

• Supporting the manufacture and assembly of electronic products
• PCBA / electronic assembly and production support

What are they looking for?

You’ll ideally have:

• Strong experience in manufacturing engineering within an electronics environment

• Metrology or precision engineering

The key thing is that this is a hands‑on engineering role.

You’ll be working closely with production and engineering, getting involved in technical problems, improving processes and helping increase the manufacturing capability of a growing business.
