Job summary

Progressive Recruitment is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor for the Net Zero Teesside project, spanning Teesside, Newcastle and Leeds. The role leads the commercial function and ensures NEC contract management, cost control and commercial performance across the project lifecycle.

The position offers senior leadership responsibilities on a major UK low-carbon infrastructure scheme, with flexibility to work from Newcastle or Leeds when off-site.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Experience delivering major infrastructure, energy, utilities, or civil projects.
• Proven commercial management experience.
• Chartered MRICS or working towards is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial function on the project.
• Manage NEC contracts and cost control.
• Prepare payment applications and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and produce cost/value reconciliations.
• Review programmes and plan commercial activities.
• End-to-end supplier procurement and subcontract administration.
• Oversee supply chain management and value-for-money assurance.
• Identify, assess and manage commercial risks.
• Provide leadership to the commercial team.
• Support successful commercial delivery of project objectives.
