Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join its client in Glasgow on major infrastructure projects. You will lead the commercial performance of a portfolio from contract award through to final account, working with project, operational and senior management teams.

The role offers £85,000 - £100,000 plus Car/Car Allowance, with a strong pipeline of work in heavy civils, utilities and energy infrastructure, and clear opportunities for leadership within the commercial team.

Qualifications

• Significant quantity surveying experience within heavy civils or major infrastructure.
• Experience at a senior or managing quantity surveyor level.
• Strong knowledge of major construction contracts, NEC; FIDIC experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leading the commercial management of major civil engineering projects.
• Managing projects through the full commercial lifecycle.
• Contract administration across standard forms of contract.
• Managing applications, valuations, variations and change.
• Cost reporting, forecasting and commercial performance management.
• Subcontract procurement and management.
• Managing commercial risk and identifying opportunities.
• Supporting contractual correspondence and project governance.
• Managing final accounts and mentoring the commercial team.
• Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
