Job summary

Howells Solutions Limited is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial performance of a major project or portfolio across London and the South East from the Hatfield head office. You will lead commercial management, maximise profitability, and mentor the team while ensuring robust forecasting and reporting.

Based in Hatfield, the role requires senior-level Quantity Surveying experience with strong main contractor background and familiarity with JCT/NEC/PPC

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification required.
• Significant experience in a senior Quantity Surveying role.
• Strong main contractor commercial experience.
• Experience with JCT, NEC and/or PPC contracts.
• Excellent commercial, numerical, negotiation and communication skills.
• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of a major project or portfolio of projects.
• Maximise profitability and manage commercial and contractual risk.
• Ensure accurate forecasting and financial reporting.
• Support the Regional Board in identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
• Manage key contractual matters, including JCT, NEC and PPC contracts.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal teams.
• Promote high standards of commercial performance and SHEQ compliance.
