Job summary

Pliant is seeking a Senior Manager Operational Risk to own the design and operation of the UK operational risk framework, ensuring alignment with FCA expectations for a card-issuing e-money business.

Based in the UK, this role offers remote work with an option to use the London office. You will lead risk governance, reporting, and risk assessments for new products and partnerships while coordinating with UK management and the Group Risk Committee.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in operational risk in payments, e-money, banking or fintech.
• Experience in FCA-regulated EMI or PI.
• Knowledge of UK regulatory framework for e-money and payments.
• Hands-on with RCSA, KRIs, incident management and resilience testing.
• Ability to challenge the First Line and report to senior management and regulators.
• Experience with distributed teams across the UK and Germany.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the operational risk framework and governance.
• Ensure governance and controls meet FCA requirements and SYSC standards.
• Provide regular risk reporting to UK management, the UK Board and the Group Risk Committee.
• Advise on operational risk implications of new products, partners, markets and material changes.
