Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Engineering to join our Christchurch team!

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Mobility and Industrial Team to ensure the delivery of all technical deliverables (external and internal) on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The Senior Manager of Engineering shall also ensure that appropriate processes are implemented to manage technical risks and that measures are used to evaluate and monitor technical performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement engineering vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve business performance.
  • Ensure engineering strategies meet safety, cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Set and deliver departmental goals aligned with strategic aims.
  • Establish and develop systems and procedures for best practices in engineering.
  • Maintain appropriate SQEP levels across engineering functions.
  • Conduct regular technical gateway reviews to monitor project delivery.
  • Manage technical risks, perform root cause analysis, and resolve issues.
  • Develop and manage KPIs for all responsibilities.
  • Deploy technical skills, resources, and external partners as needed.
  • Promote high standards through personal example and team leadership.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities.

  • Experience in financial management, including budgeting and reporting.
