Job summary

The Emerald Group in London seeks a qualified actuary to support significant business growth and lead multi-disciplinary client teams to deliver high quality actuarial work within external audit assignments.

The role requires Fellowship of the IFoA with substantial UK post-qualification experience, including Lloyd's valuation knowledge and experience with actuarial opinions, reserves, and capital modelling.

Qualifications

• Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries with significant post-qualification experience.
• Degree in Actuarial, Mathematical or Statistical/Quantitative field.
• Strong communication and technical skills with leadership of multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Managing multi-disciplinary client engagement teams to deliver high quality actuarial work as part of external audit assignments.
• Ensure appropriate data, standard actuarial methods and assumptions used by analysts to independently project reserves.
• Lead the reserving for client engagements in Lloyd's / London Market, including SOO and Solvency II provisions.
• Ensure SCRs calculated accurately using the Standard Formula to provide assurance on results.

Job description

They are looking for a qualified actuary with strong communication and technical skills to support their significant business growth

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

• Managing multi-disciplinary client engagement teams to deliver high quality actuarial work as part of external audit assignments
• Ensure appropriate data, standard actuarial methods and assumptions used by analysts to independently project reserves in client assignments
• Lead the reserving for client engagements in the Lloyd's / London Market, including for Lloyd's Statements of Actuarial Opinion and Solvency II Technical Provisions
• Ensure SCRs calculated accurately using the Standard Formula approach to provide assurance on the technical accuracy of clients' results
• Achieved a degree in an Actuarial, Mathematical or Statistical/Quantitative related degree
• Significant experience post qualification as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent)
• Significant post qualification experience in the UK, ideally with strong knowledge of Lloyd's Valuation of Liabilities requirements and experience with Statements of Actuarial Opinions
• Experience in capital modelling and/or pricing would also be beneficial
• Experience with using reserving and/or capital modelling software tools
