Job summary

The Apex Group is seeking a Manager in the Business Services division to lead financial reporting activities for the Johannesburg client structures, reporting to an Associate Director. You will mentor teams, implement procedures, and ensure compliance with laws, GAAP/IFRS, and contractual obligations.

You will coordinate NAVs, statutory reporting, and management reporting, while guiding auditors and training junior staff.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification – CA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Ideally three - four years’ experience in a similar relevant capacity in the finance industry.
• An understanding of regulatory and financial reporting regime and IFRS.
• Ability to motivate and influence a team, high level of managerial skills.

Responsibilities

• Joint responsibility for development of the teams in Johannesburg and day-to-day financial reporting for client portfolios.
• Support management of specialised services teams on financial reporting and ensure efficient operation under laws and contracts.
• Coordinate NAVs, Management Reporting and Statutory Reporting to meet accounting and regulatory obligations.
• Ensure quality control prior to payments, calculations and transactions.
• Prepare and implement entity-specific reporting procedures.
• Ensure reporting complies with local law, GAAP or IFRS and other standards.
• Develop and maintain divisional policies and support new structures.
• Oversee day-to-day matters, delegate tasks, and support new structures.
• Act as primary contact with auditors for planning and coordination of audits.
• Provide technical guidance to clients and train junior staff.
• Support business development through client meetings and proposals.
