Believ, a scale-up in the UK charging network space, is seeking a Financial Controller to lead financial reporting, controls and systems improvements. You will work with stakeholders to deliver high‑quality insights and scalable processes to support growth.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role involves managing monthly and annual accounts, balance sheet governance, and coordinating statutory reporting. Hybrid work with three in-office days in London/Cardiff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Financial Controller will be responsible for ensuring robust financial management, delivering high‑quality reporting and insights, enhancing financial controls, and driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and people. This is a hands‑on role requiring a strong technical accounting background, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to build scalable finance processes and systems to support business growth.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts, financial statements and variance analysis.
• Continuously improve management accounts, MI reporting and business performance dashboards.
• Ensure robust balance sheet controls, financial governance and internal control frameworks are maintained across the organization.
• Coordinate statutory reporting and lead the annual external audit process.
• Optimise finance systems, driving automation, process improvements and scalability through Oracle and related platforms.
• Manage and develop effective relationships with outsourced accounting teams covering management accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable activities and Tax.
• Manage cash flow reporting, forecasting and working capital performance.
• Assist the Finance Business Partners and Head of Finance with budgeting and forecasting.
• Support capital investment by providing strong financial oversight and control.
• Lead and support ad hoc finance projects and business initiatives as directed by the Head of Finance and CFO.

Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

Location

The business is currently based in our offices in Southwark London and Central Cardiff. The position is full time, hybrid with 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) based in the office.
