Senior Manager, External Reporting

£90k-95k

Location: Manchester or Peterborough (Hybrid 1-2 days per week on-site)

About the Role:

We re looking for a technically skilled and detail-focused Senior Manager External Reporting to join our finance team. Reporting to the Head of Financial Control, you ll play a critical role in preparing the Group Annual Report, managing the Group consolidation process, and leading technical accounting projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a visible and impactful role, supporting senior leadership, guiding the business through technical change and ensuring high-quality financial reporting in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

What You ll Be Doing
  • Lead the Group consolidation process, including:
    • Adding individual company accounts
    • Eliminating intercompany transactions
    • Incorporating group-level adjustments
  • Prepare consolidated group accounts and disclosures (including final documents in Word format)
  • Coordinate the Group Annual Report and subsidiary statutory accounts in line with IFRS
  • Manage the external audit process, including responding to audit queries and managing deliverables
  • Write and review technical accounting papers on complex group-level matters
  • Provide technical support to internal teams on accounting standards and policy implementation
  • Support and challenge key accounting estimates and judgments
  • Collaborate with peers, working cross-functionally with tax, FP&A, and other finance functions


What We re Looking For
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent), with 5+ years post-qualification experience
  • Proven experience in group consolidation and preparing consolidated accounts
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Experience working with or managing external auditors
  • Skilled in writing technical accounting position papers
  • Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with stakeholders at all levels
  • Financial services experience is a bonus, but not essential
