Maven Partners Offshore in Jersey seeks a Senior Manager, Engineering to lead multiple engineering teams across software development, infrastructure and cloud, reporting to the CIO. You will shape a scalable, secure and resilient engineering environment and drive technology transformation.

You will collaborate with Product, Operations and Security and translate strategic objectives into effective technology solutions, while ensuring regulatory compliance and robust governance.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Engineering to join its Technology leadership team. Reporting to the CIO, this is a pivotal role leading multiple engineering teams across software development, infrastructure and cloud, with a strong focus on technology transformation and modernisation.

You will shape and deliver a scalable, secure and resilient engineering environment, working closely with Product, Operations, Security and business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into effective technology solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams across software development, infrastructure and cloud
• Define and deliver technology architecture, solution design and engineering strategies aligned with business objectives
• Oversee the full engineering lifecycle, driving modern Agile, DevOps, CI/CD and automated testing practices
• Own development backlogs, roadmaps and prioritisation, balancing new delivery with technical debt, resilience and lifecycle requirements
• Lead cloud, hosting and infrastructure strategy
• Chair the Technical Design Authority and contribute to key technology governance forums
• Embed security, operational resilience and regulatory requirements across engineering activities
• Oversee BCP and DR capabilities, ensuring appropriate resilience and recovery standards
• Develop and mentor engineering teams
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and communicate complex technical matters clearly
• Manage third-party technology suppliers

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams within complex environments
• Strong background in software development, solution architecture and systems engineering
• Experience delivering modern engineering practices including Agile, DevOps and CI/CD
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP, including migration strategies
• Strong understanding of infrastructure, platform optimisation and technology lifecycle management
• Experience of security, compliance and operational resilience, including BCP and DR
• Experience within Financial Services or another regulated environment would be advantageous
• Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience
