Senior Manager E-Commerce Logistics (Asda.com delivery) Fixed Term Maternity Cover

This is a significant leadership role with full accountability for the route scheduling of our fleet of online grocery delivery vehicles (Asda.com Delivery). You will be at the forefront of our day-to-day operational planning, so will need excellent team leadership skills and the passion to work in a fast-paced environment. You will support the rollout and enhancement of our new slotting and routing systems and drive continuous optimisation to enhance the customer and colleague experience.

What you'll do:

• Be accountable for the route scheduling of our fleet of over 30,000 delivery vehicles to ensure orders are fulfilled on time.
• Adapt the fleet size, driver shift patterns, and catchment areas to achieve the optimal customer slot availability across all propositions.
• Analyse delivery KPIs to identify opportunities to enhance the customer experience, grow sales, and improve profitability.
• Work cross-functionally on step change projects and develop innovative routing solutions to support teams to deliver change.
• Build robust business cases for large-scale change projects and proactively engage stakeholders to develop clear implementation plans.
• Develop a robust driver training programme to enhance driver safety and drive customer-centric doorstep experience.
• Build internal and external relationships to support delivery of our strategy and plans.
• Lead, coach and develop the team and create a culture of continuous improvement.

How you'll do it:

Knowledge:

• Experience of leading a business area in delivering against functional objectives in a fast-paced environment is essential.
• You will use your diverse understanding of e-commerce planning and logistics to drive improvements in route scheduling.
• You will have a strong understanding of optimisation modelling in order to extract maximum value and efficiency from the network.

Communicating and Influencing:

• Able to translate complex data into clear and well-reasoned cases for change.
• Experienced at stakeholder management and able to communicate clearly (written and verbal) across all levels of the organisation.
• Support and challenge retail teams to deliver strong operational performance metrics.
• Achieve results through inspiring and motivating the team to take action and deliver against the strategy.

• This role requires a high degree of autonomous thinking as you identify and exploit opportunities to grow and enhance operational efficiency.

Experience:

• You will have proven previous success of leading operational performance and Continuous Improvement.
