Job summary

IOS Care is seeking an experienced Children & Young People’s Manager to lead the day-to-day management, quality and development of our children’s services from Cardiff or Barry. This is a full‑time, permanent role within a growing organisation.

You will oversee recruitment and staffing for the children’s services, coordinate placements in residential homes, manage domiciliary care, build partnerships with local authorities, and ensure safeguarding and regulatory compliance across services.

Qualifications

• Level 5 qualification in Children and Young People (or working towards it).
• Registered with Social Care Wales (SCW).
• Experience in children and young people's services.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and practice.
• Proven leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel (as required).

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management, quality, and development of children’s services.
• Coordinate recruitment and staffing for children’s services.
• Oversee residential and domiciliary care services for children.
• Build relationships with local authorities, social workers, and partners.
• Assess referrals to determine safe and appropriate service delivery.
• Ensure staffing levels, care delivery, and safeguarding compliance.
• Support recruitment, induction and ongoing development of staff.
• Ensure records, care plans and risk assessments meet standards.
