Job summary

Cardiff Council is seeking a Registered Manager to lead a respite children's home in Cardiff. You will be accountable for safe and efficient operation, ensuring adherence to the home’s Statement of Purposes and quality of care plans.

The role involves managing relationships with CIW, health and education partners, and families. You will drive improvements, oversee staffing levels and performance, and promote restorative practice within a Signs of Safety framework.

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in leadership for Health & Social Care Services is required.
• Trainer qualification and first aid certification are desirable.
• Experience in senior management within residential care settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership and accountability for day-to-day home operations.
• Ensure compliance with SoP and CIW requirements and safety standards.
• Lead governance, safeguarding, and quality of care initiatives.
• Manage resources, budgets, and staff performance to achieve outcomes.
