The Building Construction Products division (BCP) is hiring a Senior Manager Category Procurement - Hydraulics. This role manages the global BCP category strategy for Hydraulics across the BCP business.

Job Summary:

This leader collaborates with Hydraulics Systems and Components Engineering and suppliers to meet quality, cost, and performance standards for hydraulic components used in BCP products. The role involves developing and optimizing a resilient, world-class supply base in partnership with suppliers, sites, and product groups.

Key Responsibilities:

• People: Manage a global team of supplier development engineers and purchasing professionals to meet BCP's quality, cost, delivery, and management requirements. Direct reports include Supplier Development Engineers, Buyers, and Analysts.
• Leadership: Develop, mentor, and lead personnel capable of executing the Hydraulics strategy. Lead supplier performance management, uphold high ethical standards, and build strong relationships with key suppliers. Represent BCP on the Hydraulics Category Council.
• Strategy: Use strategic sourcing to evaluate options and align the Hydraulics sourcing strategy with global business needs. Understand current supply base capabilities and identify potential improvements.
• Customer Focus: Manage suppliers serving multiple Caterpillar facilities, including the service network. Maintain clear communication with business partners to meet all requirements.
• Supplier Development: Use QCLDM tools to ensure continuous improvement with key suppliers. Build trustful relationships at senior levels and apply cost modeling with macroeconomic insights.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field or extensive relevant experience.
• Proven leadership of diverse, global teams, with cultural awareness and experience in a global context.
• Exceptional communication skills across all organizational levels.
• Expertise in global procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management.
• Strong understanding of quality management principles in procurement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of factors influencing supply bases.
• MBA or master’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of Quality and Cost Modeling tools.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
• Professional certifications such as C.P.M., CPIM, or CIRM are advantageous.
• Membership in professional organizations like ISM or APICS is preferred.
• Experience with Six Sigma Green/Black Belt is a plus.
