Position Summary:
As the Senior Manager of AI Data Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing a variety of data collection, creation, and annotation programs that serve as the foundation for state-of-the-art AI and machine learning models. This role emphasizes operational excellence, strategic leadership, and innovative thinking to ensure the delivery of high-quality training data that meets and exceeds client expectations. You will collaborate closely and directly with clients, lead diverse global teams, and shape operational strategies to drive the success of AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership in Data Operations: Own the end-to-end execution of data collection, creation, and annotation workflows across diverse data types, including text, images, audio, and video.

Client Partnership: Collaborate with clients to define project goals, align on training data requirements, and ensure the delivery of impactful solutions for their AI and machine learning objectives.

Quality and Scalability: Implement scalable systems and processes to ensure the highest data quality, such as golden datasets, quality assurance protocols, and advanced workflow designs tailored to complex AI/ML needs.

Operational Excellence: Lead and develop teams of data quality specialists, annotators, and operations managers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and KPIs.

Strategic Problem-Solving: Address the nuances and edge cases inherent in training data projects by designing creative, flexible solutions that meet evolving client demands.

Thought Leadership: Position TaskUs as a trusted partner and thought leader by driving innovation in training data workflows and sharing insights with clients and industry peers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, solutions, engineering, freelancer marketing, Data Science, and product teams to implement new methodologies, refine workflows, and achieve operational excellence.

Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of testing, iterating, and scaling processes, driving efficiency and consistent results.

5+ years of experience in operations management, with a proven focus on data annotation, collection, or other AI/ML-related processes.

Proven ability to manage large teams (50+), including multiple layers of leadership, and deliver results in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.

Intermediate level of familiarity of SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis tools.

Deep understanding of training data workflows, data structures, and scalable operational systems.

Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, and traditional AI/ML processes, with a strong interest in staying current on advancements in these areas.

Exceptional communication and leadership skills to engage effectively with clients, internal stakeholders, and global teams.

Analytical mindset with a track record of deriving insights from complex data and implementing actionable solutions.

Entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for solving ambiguous problems through testing, iteration, and scaling.

Background in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related technical field.
