Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Management Accountant to join our finance team.

This role will play a pivotal part in financial strategy, control, and reporting, ensuring the timely and accurate provision of management information to support decision-making at the highest level.

Key Responsibilities:

Monthly Management Accounts:

• Lead the preparation, review, and delivery of accurate monthly management accounts within agreed timelines.
• Provide insightful commentary and variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
• Work closely with department heads to ensure accurate cost allocations and understanding of financial performance.

Year-End Financial Statements:

• Coordinate and prepare statutory year-end financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
• Liaise with external auditors to facilitate a smooth and timely audit process, leading on
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory financial requirements.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts in collaboration with business units.
• Identify risks and opportunities to improve financial forecasting accuracy.

Financial Analysis and Business Partnering:

• Deliver financial analysis and modelling to support strategic decision-making.
• Act as a finance business partner to senior stakeholders across the organisation.
• Drive initiatives to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.

Controls and Compliance:

• Ensure robust financial controls are maintained and continuously improved.
• Oversee and develop internal financial processes and systems to enhance the quality and efficiency of reporting.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Supervise and mentor junior finance staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Support recruitment and training initiatives within the finance team.

Qualifications and Skills:

Qualifications:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in financial and management accounting roles.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP).
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Experience with accounting software, such as Sage, Xero, NetSuite, or similar systems.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proactive, self-starter with strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Experience managing remote or hybrid teams.
