Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join a private equity-backed financial services group in Gloucester. You will produce accurate monthly management accounts for a portfolio of group companies and perform reconciliations to support decision-making.

The role also covers VAT returns, cash flow forecasting, audit support, budgeting, and contributing to acquisitions and process improvements. Strong technical accounting and stakeholder communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts for a portfolio of group companies.
• Perform monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, investigating variances.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, including partial exemption calculations.
• Support the development and enhancement of financial controls and governance procedures.
• Assist with acquisitions through due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
• Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Play a key role in the year-end audit process, coordinating information with external auditors.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting cycle with analysis and insights.
• Deliver ad-hoc financial reporting to support senior management decisions.
• Contribute to finance projects and business improvement initiatives.

Profile

A successful Senior Management Accountant should have:

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA Qualified.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills.
• Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders
