Are you a decisive, qualified finance leader ready to take your next step in a fast-paced, collaborative environment? We're looking for an experienced Senior Management Accountant to lead a team of 10, managing 5 direct reports, within a dynamic finance function.

About the Role

As a Senior Management Accountant, you'll have full responsibility for the financial records and reporting for the Northgate, Blakedale, and FridgeXpress Group companies. Reporting to the Management Accounting Manager, this hands-on role includes leading a team of four part-qualified accountants, overseeing month-end processes, ensuring financial control and governance, and delivering accurate management information across the group.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing 5 direct reports, you will lead and support a team of 10 part and fully qualified accountants including those who work remotely.

• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across all group entities.

• Deliver audit-ready financial records and support external audit processes.

• Own and manage intercompany trading, reconciliation, and elimination.

• Promote strong financial controls and improve accounting processes.

• Collaborate across teams to embed a sustainable, fit-for-purpose operating model.

• Develop the team by identifying and supporting training needs.

About You

• First of all, you are a fully qualified CCAB-registered accountant with at least 4 years' post-qualification experience, ideally in a shared services or FinOps function.
• You have proven experience in leading a junior team and thrive in a coaching and mentoring role.
• You bring strong technical accounting knowledge, with a clear understanding of financial governance and compliance.
• You are confident, clear, and collaborative in communication and decision-marking.
• You have the organisational and project management skills to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
• You have experience with month-end processes, including intercompany reconciliations.
• You are proactive in improving processes and delivering sustainable ways of working.
