Job summary

The Senior Technician at the University of Salford, based in the Maker Space of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Environment (SEE) at PeelPark Campus, will facilitate the use of 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC mills, lathes and routers, develop learning resources, and ensure rigorous Health & Safety and COSHH compliance.

They will work Monday to Friday on campus to support students, collaborating with staff and students across SEE to enhance learning and research activities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates use of specialist equipment or techniques to students and staff.
• Contributes to development/delivery of research/teaching activities.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the use of specialist equipment or techniques to students and staff.
• Contributes academically to the development and/or delivery of research/teaching/enterprise activities.
• Directs assessments of space health and safety; participates in assessments of health and safety.
• Deals with problems and issues, managing resolutions and dissemination of information.
