Job summary

The MTC is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to keep our plant and workshop machinery running safely and reliably. You will lead maintenance activities, diagnose complex faults, and support new installations while coordinating with external contractors and internal safety teams.

You will review safety documentation, carry out risk assessments, and ensure high standards of maintenance and problem solving.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in a maintenance discipline is required.
• Able to interpret schematic diagrams and line diagrams; comfortable working at height.
• Standby cover on a 24/7 rota is required; flexible for holidays and sickness.
• Full driving licence and IT literacy (Excel/Word) are expected.
• Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely, Electrical Maintenance qualification, 18th Edition knowledge, Hazop familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance on plant and workshop machinery and preventative tasks.
• Lead and support new installations, and coordinate with external contractors/suppliers.
• Review safety documentation before work starts and ensure compliance with MTC standards.
• Produce risk assessments and COSHH assessments; manage permit-to-work processes.
• Analyse recurring faults and propose redesigns or process improvements.
