Job summary

Bakelite is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance, reliability and project delivery at a COMAH chemical site in the UK. You will drive asset integrity, safety compliance, and efficient execution of CAPEX/OPEX projects while embedding robust maintenance standards and contractor governance.

The role requires 5+ years in maintenance/reliability at an upper-tier site, strong regulatory knowledge, and proven leadership. A degree in engineering and CMMS proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Control/Instrumentation engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in maintenance, reliability and project delivery within chemical/process industries.
• Upper Tier COMAH site experience and strong regulatory knowledge.
• Proven capability in permit-to-work, isolation, and contractor management.

Responsibilities

• Lead site maintenance strategy (preventive, predictive, corrective) with high availability.
• Maintain critical mechanical, electrical, and control assets to ensure reliability.
• Drive RCМ, FMEA, and defect elimination to reduce downtime.
• Manage spares, obsolescence, and CMMS governance (SAP PM).
• Oversee CAPEX/OPEX projects from concept to handover and ensure compliance.
• Coach multi-disciplinary team and coordinate with Operations, EHS and Quality.
