Job summary

Graphic Packaging International is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations across North East manufacturing sites in the UK. You will ensure production equipment operates safely, efficiently and at maximum performance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

You will monitor KPIs, manage external contractors, and develop the maintenance team to build capability and engagement.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with maintenance operations responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) and TPM programs.
• Understanding of electrical regulations (17th or 18th Edition preferred).
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage maintenance activities across production and facility operations.
• Drive machine reliability and reduce downtime through preventive and continuous improvement programs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, BRC, and ISO standards.
• Monitor and report maintenance KPIs and performance metrics.
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors and service providers.
• Support capital and operational improvement projects.
• Develop and coach maintenance team members to build technical capability and engagement.
• Manage facilities maintenance requirements to ensure efficient site operations.
• Promote a strong safety culture and maintain high housekeeping standards.
