Job summary

SJEngineering | SJExecutive Partners seeks an experienced maintenance technician to support a 24-hour manufacturing plant. You will respond to breakdowns, repair plant equipment, and drive health and safety improvements in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform root-cause analyses, contribute to plant projects, and manage spare parts while ensuring compliance with HS&E and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical apprenticeship with recognised qualifications plus 2–3 years relevant experience.
• PLC knowledge an advantage.
• Electrical engineers to provide evidence of 16th or above electrical legislation.
• Knowledge of HS&E and quality conformance.
• Continuous improvement mindset in engineering processes.
• Experience with ordering equipment/spares from order to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support Health & Safety / Environmental requirements per internal standards and permit to work procedures.
• Respond to breakdowns and repair plant/equipment within required time scales.
• Provide status information on breakdowns and projects to the engineering team leader.
• Request support for timely repairs from day shift and contract engineers when needed.
• Ensure interventions meet required standards and best practice.
• Carry out investigations into problems or production development initiatives, individually or in a team.
• Contribute to Plant Engineering projects as needed.
• Contribute to design considerations of equipment and processes in the plant.
• Identify areas to reduce maintenance spend and machine downtime.
• Update and control of engineering report documentation (Shires).
• Manage spares from placement to stock control.
