Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is seeking a skilled z/OS Db2 DBA to support complex mainframe environments and drive ongoing improvements. You will own the Db2 roadmap, implement standardisation, and collaborate with Lab and Platform teams while ensuring governance and change control.

The role involves out-of-hours support as needed. The candidate will have extensive Db2 on z/OS experience, strong performance tuning skills, and a proven ability to mentor junior staff, with a track record of delivering

Qualifications

• Extensive in-depth expertise and knowledge of Db2 on z/OS.
• Expert-level experience in performance monitoring and Db2 optimization, including SQL tuning.
• Expert-level experience governing and approving DDL changes and schema evolution.
• Extensive experience in leading resolution and troubleshooting of critical online systems.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to Senior Leadership.
• Experience coaching junior team members on Db2 fundamentals and operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for complex mainframe environments to tight timescales.
• Help drive the strategy and design across the mainframe development and test estate.
• Own and drive the zDBA technology roadmap, and work with stakeholders to deliver it.
• Implement standardisation and drive improvement initiatives in the team.
• Work with wider Lab and Platform teams to develop and implement processes.
• Ensure processes, governance, and procedures are followed.
