Responsibilities and Requirements

We seek versatile Senior Machine Learning Scientists with a balanced skill set. Your focus will be on model training, research, dataset creation, and model hardening for production pipelines. Your daily tasks include:

• Collaborate with subject matter experts and product owners to define questions and data needs.
• Curate, generate, annotate data, and create datasets responsibly.
• Process raw data into trainable datasets using SQL and scripting languages, with visualization as needed.
• Develop, tune, and optimize Machine Learning models, including language models and third-party LLMs.
• Stay current with research, experiment with new architectures, and share findings.
• Ensure models are scalable for production use.
• Communicate insights, model behavior, and limitations clearly.
• Write clean, modular code with tests and documentation.
• Make informed technological choices and explain them effectively.

Qualifications

• Experience with text data and Deep Learning/ML models, including supervised and unsupervised learning; experience with vision and speech is a bonus.
• Strong mathematical and theoretical understanding of ML and deep learning.
• At least 8 years of software engineering experience using Python, SQL, Unix, git, and GitHub.
• Skills in ML development tools like AWS SageMaker, Hugging Face, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Jupyter, Weights & Biases.
• Familiarity with Language Models, training, fine-tuning, and industry-standard LM families.
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI, or related field, with relevant experience or notable achievements.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in English.

Additional Plus

• Experience with production back-end development, APIs, and libraries.
• DevOps skills with Docker, AWS services.
• Experience building front-ends for demos and prototypes.
• Experience with advanced prompting, fine-tuning LLMs using platforms like mosaic.ai or stochastic.ai.
• Showcase of previous work (website, open source, presentations).
