Job description

Job title: Senior Machine Learning Scientist

Location: Flexible

Role overview:

Markerstudy Group has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to support the delivery and deployment of Insurance Claims and Operations use cases.

You will have the technical support of an established machine learning team to create fully automated machine learning pipelines.

You will be supported by an Operations Insight team experienced in the delivery, evaluation, and performance tracking of machine learning models.

The environment is dynamic and diverse, with key stakeholders across Broker Services, Customer & Third Party Claims, Counter Fraud, and Continuous Improvement.

Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to best practices and policies across all aspects of machine learning.
  2. Develop robust, high-quality code using test-driven development (TDD) and adhere to the SOLID principles.
  3. Deploy and maintain machine learning models in a DevOps/MLOps environment.
  4. Optimize machine learning models for performance.
  5. Contribute to a culture of coding and data excellence.
  6. Mentor and coach a small team of junior machine learning specialists and insight analysts.

Key Skills and Experience:

  1. Experience in tuning and deploying machine learning models.
  2. Knowledge of predictive modeling techniques such as Logistic Regression, GBMs, Elastic Net GLMs, GAMs, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Neural Networks, Clustering, Isolation Forest, SVMs, NLP.
  3. Experience with MLOps and cloud platforms like Azure ML, AWS, Databricks, Google Cloud.
  4. Proficiency in production-grade coding, SOLID principles, and TDD.
  5. Programming skills in Python, PySpark, R, SAS, SQL.
  6. Experience with source control tools like GitHub.
  7. Understanding of bias and ethics considerations in model deployment.
  8. Ability to monitor model performance and explainability.
  9. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
