Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in the UK. The role focuses on building and maintaining ML solutions in production for the Consumer data science team, applying strong software engineering in a data-driven environment.

You will contribute to large-scale ML systems, collaborate across business and tech teams, and drive architectural decisions while embracing hybrid working patterns.

Qualifications

• Advanced software engineering practices, automated testing, CI/CD and production deployments.
• Commercial experience with Python ML libraries: Pandas, Scikit‑learn, XGBoost.
• Experience with cloud services and data stores such as Vertex AI, BigQuery and Cloud Run.
• Hands‑on with MLOps tooling like Kubeflow Pipelines and dbt, including production monitoring.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ML systems in Python with data scientists and engineers.
• Take projects from experimentation to production with CI/CD, APIs and Dynatrace.
• Engage with business and technical teams to understand requirements and influence decisions.
• Advocate for technology, platform and architecture aligned with guidelines.
• Drive engineering standards, consistency and knowledge sharing across the team.
• Lead incident management with the platform team and business partners.
• Identify opportunities to improve solutions and present delivery plans.
• Ensure governance with data science, model governance and risk teams.
