Job summary

MEP Technical Talent is recruiting an experienced M&E Design Manager for a Conwy-based contractor. The role oversees a team of six designers, delivering full M&E building services from concept through construction and coordinating with architects and structures.

The candidate should bring strong leadership, a track record in building services, and commercial awareness. This is a senior, office-based, permanent position with a salary in the 65k–75k GBP range, DOE.

Qualifications

• Strong experience leading or managing an M&E design team.
• Experience delivering full M&E building services designs from design through construction.
• Good understanding of how M&E designs translate to on-site installation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of six Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers.
• Oversee delivery of full M&E designs from initial design to construction.
• Coordinate design workloads, priorities and programmes across projects.
• Review designs, specifications, calculations and technical submissions.
• Ensure designs are coordinated with architectural and structural requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and support to the design team.
• Collaborate with Estimating, Contracts, Project Management and site teams.
• Identify risks, clashes and value-engineering opportunities.
