Senior M&E Construction Manager - Residential High-Rise

Job summary

Avolon M&E is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to lead on a major £40m residential development in White City, West London. The role is site-based, coordinating subcontractors and driving mechanical installations through to completion.

You will manage day-to-day mechanical works, ensure safety, quality and programme targets, and work closely with the Project Management team to deliver a high‑quality handover.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager or similar.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services installations.
• Experience delivering large residential, mixed‑use or commercial developments.
• Proven ability to manage mechanical subcontractors and drive site progress.
• Good knowledge of quality assurance, inspections and witnessing procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and coordinate installations.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
• Relevant site management and health and safety qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate mechanical installations across the development, ensuring works are delivered in line with programme requirements.
• Manage mechanical subcontractors and the wider supply chain, monitoring progress, productivity and workmanship.
• Coordinate installation of mechanical building services, including HVAC, pipework, ventilation and associated systems.
• Manage site quality assurance processes, inspections, witnessing and installation sign-offs.
• Ensure works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project quality standards.
• Identify and resolve site issues, working with Project Managers and other construction disciplines.
• Attend site coordination and progress meetings, providing regular updates on mechanical works.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and proactively address potential delays.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety across all mechanical activities.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities as the project progresses.
