Job summary

Sphere Solutions is seeking a Building Services Manager (Mechanical or Electrical) for a major commercial project in Bristol. You will oversee M&E delivery from design through handover, coordinating with design teams, subcontractors and the client to ensure on-time, on-budget performance.

The role demands strong leadership, extensive M&E expertise and proficiency with BIM tools such as Navisworks, AutoCAD or Revit. A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing building services on large-scale commercial construction projects.
• A Mechanical or Electrical engineering background is preferred.
• Engineering qualification or equivalent experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of mechanical and electrical building services across a major commercial project.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to engineers and site-based services teams.
• Coordinate M&E design, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Review design information, drawings and technical submissions.
• Manage design coordination and resolve technical issues throughout the project.
• Work closely with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and the client team.
• Review BIM models and coordinate services using platforms such as Navisworks.
• Ensure M&E works are delivered to programme, budget, quality and safety requirements.
• Support procurement, tendering and subcontractor management.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential issues before they impact delivery.
• Lead technical meetings and provide solutions to complex engineering challenges.
• Support development and mentoring of engineers and other team members.
• Ensure all works comply with relevant standards and project requirements.
