Job summary

Sphere Solutions is seeking a Building Services Manager (Mechanical or Electrical) for a major commercial project in Bristol. You will oversee M&E delivery from design through handover, coordinating with design teams, subcontractors and the client to ensure on-time, on-budget performance.

The role demands strong leadership, extensive M&E expertise and proficiency with BIM tools such as Navisworks, AutoCAD or Revit. A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent is essential for success.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of mechanical and electrical building services across a major commercial project.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to engineers and site-based services teams.
• Coordinate M&E design, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Review design information, drawings and technical submissions.
• Manage design coordination and resolve technical issues throughout the project.
• Work closely with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and the client team.

• Ensure M&E works are delivered to programme, budget, quality and safety requirements.
• Support procurement, tendering and subcontractor management.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential issues before they impact delivery.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Services Manager to join an established project team delivering a major commercial development in Bristol.

This is a key position within the project team, responsible for overseeing the building services delivery from design and coordination through to installation, commissioning and handover.

The role would suit an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Building Services professional with a strong background in major commercial construction projects.

The Role

As Building Services Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful coordination and delivery of the M&E services package, working closely with the project management, design and site teams.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Significant experience managing building services on large-scale commercial construction projects.
• A Mechanical or Electrical engineering background.
• Strong knowledge of M&E installation, coordination and construction processes.
• Experience working with main contractors, specialist subcontractors and consultants.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive projects forward.
• Experience with BIM, Navisworks, AutoCAD and/or Revit would be advantageous.
• A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
