Job summary

Finatal is seeking a Senior M&A Associate to drive expansion across the European energy ecosystem within a full-cycle corporate investing environment. You will work with senior leadership and portfolio companies on origination, execution, and post-investment strategy.

Responsibilities include evaluating opportunities, building financial models, conducting due diligence, and preparing materials for boards and advisors, with a strong emphasis on value creation and strategic growth across energy

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience across Investment Banking (M&A / Energy / Industrials).
• Experience in Private Equity / Growth Equity / Venture Capital.
• Background in Big 4 Transaction Services or M&A with strong financial grounding.
• Corporate Development experience in a relevant sector.

Responsibilities

• Engage with management teams, founders, and intermediaries to evaluate investment and acquisition opportunities.
• Support pipeline development through market mapping, thematic research, and target identification.
• Conduct early-stage analysis including commercial evaluation, financial review, and strategic fit assessment.
• Build financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction structures to support decisions.
• Coordinate and support end-to-end due diligence across workstreams.
• Prepare investment materials including memos, board presentations, and strategic recommendations.
• Manage interactions with advisors and internal stakeholders through to completion.
• Support post-investment initiatives, including governance and value creation planning.
• Partner with portfolio companies on strategic and operational improvements.
