Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, seeks a Solutions Development Manager to lead tender design and deliver commercially competitive warehouse solutions. The role covers Midlands or North depots with some travel.

You will analyse customer requirements, plan bids, and coordinate IT, operations, and finance inputs to optimise projects and profitability. Strong board-level communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Commercial awareness of UK third party logistics gained through operations or solution design.
• Excellent analytical and IT skills to produce detailed operating cost models.
• Comfortable presenting proposals to customers and communicating at Board Level.
• Forward thinking in reviewing automation opportunities for projects.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers during all stages of the tender process.
• Analyse requirements and assess opportunities for Great Bear’s operations.
• Plan and coordinate tender responses and bid scope with cross-functional teams.
• Design warehouse and transport solutions considering processes, layouts, equipment, routing, IT systems and admin structures.
• Develop models to determine resources to feed into financial models.
• Manage quotes for subcontracting non-core services in tender scope.
• Prepare profit and loss budgets with finance colleagues.
• Provide financial and operational comparisons highlighting risk.
• Prepare tender documentation and presentations.
• Support development of marketing materials.
• Maintain knowledge of industry developments via professional bodies and events.
• Support junior members of the business development team.
• Support implementation of new contracts.
